HDSDR & RDS Spy

How to make RDS Spy work with HDSDR (without the need for a 192KHz soundcard)

There may be better ways; but this works for me:

1) Download Virtual Audio Cable Software
2) Download HDSDR Software

### In VAC Control Panel

1) Set Cables to 2
2) Set Cable Params -> SR to 192000 in both drop downs
3) Tick Volume Control (otherwise you will be stuck on 48 kHz)

### In Windows Manage Audio Devices

1) Line 1 (Virtual Audio Cable) set to 192000 sample rate in advanced
settings
1) Line 2 (Virtual Audio Cable) set to 192000 sample rate in advanced
settings

### In HDSDR

1) Pick a FM .wav file (or live FM)
2) Select FM
3) Set Soundcard RX Output to Line 1 (Virtual Audio Cable)
4) Set Bandwidth to 192000 on input and output

### In VAC Audio Repeater KS (Kernel Streaming)

1) Wave In: Line 1 (Virtual Audio Cable)
2) Wave Out: Line 2 (Virtual Audio Cable)
3) Sample Rate 192000

### In VAC Audio Repeater MME (if you want to hear the station audio)

1) Wave In: Line 2 (Virtual Audio Cable)
2) Microsoft Sound Mapper
3) Sample Rate 192000

### In RDS Spy

1) Input Audio Device: Line 2 (Virtual Audio Cable)
2) Set Input Mode: Direct RDS/MPX

This wires up it up like:

HDSDR -> VAC1 -> VAC2
VAC2 -> RDS Spy
VAC2 -> Speaker

I can't get it to work without the 2 VAC's

Don't forget HDSDR can work with FUNcube Dongle Pro+ as well as read a number of .wav file formats including
those from Perseus FM+.
